Junior Report for MPDWG AGM  October, 2009

It has been a sucessful and rewarding year for Mornington Peninsula Juniors particularly the first half of 2009. 3 juniors  made a team up for the Kay Mahlook Shield in March and played on some very interesting courses in the Bendigo area - Neangar Park, Eaglehawk and Marong. The girls came in third in the competition overall - great effort.

The Anglesea Camp in June was attended by 5 juniors and although the weather was appalling and they couldn't spend a lot of time outside it was a great success and they all want to go back next year which is great.

In July three of our juniors turned 18 and consequently  can no longer be included in junior teams and unfortunately at this stage we haven't any new ones coming through.. but hopefully this will change soon.

The Junior Open Tournament for this month had to be cancelled due to the fact that we only had four entries - also some clinics offered by Torie O'Connor  the professional at Sorrento, who is very keen to help the district juniors any way she can, also had to be cancelled.

The Peninsula District Schools Championship is on Monday the 21st December at Rosebud Country Club, so hopefully as the holidays will have started  we will get a few girls interested..

Finally I would just like to congratulate Angela Dunn of Flinders Golf Club on being awarded the Gatehouse award for 2009 - well deserved.
