ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2010

Mornington Golf Club

MONDAY OCTOBER 25TH

1.  The following were elected to the District Committee for 2011:

President - Mieke van Weel (Rosebud CC)

Vice-President - Judy Kingshott (Mount Martha)

Secretary- Susan Naylor (Devilbend)

Treasurer - Sandra E. Johnson (The National)

Tournament Secretary - Val Peppler (Portsea)

Handicap Manager - Pauline Beet (Rosebud CC)

No nominations were received for the Communications or Junior positions.

Anyone interested in either of these vacancies should speak to a member of the new committee which will have the power to second additional members. 

2.  INCREASE IN AFFILIATION FEES - Motion on Notice

A motion to increase Affiliation Fees for membership of the MPDWG from $1.50 to $3.00 in the year 2011-2012 was moved by Treasurer Sandy Johnson, seconded by Val Peppler and carried without dissent.

Thank you to the clubs who participated in a very thoughtful discussion about the recent Pennant season, and about amalgamation and zones in our District.

A large number of members welcomed Louise MacDonald, the Director of Golf at Women's Golf Victoria, to our meeting.  She talked about the changes to the handicapping and course rating systems being introduced by Golf Australia this year.

The Delegates' Meeting followed, after which office-bearers broke into small groups to discuss their roles and responsibilities.

Being unopposed, all nominees were declared elected.

 

2."SPECIAL RESOLUTION”

MOTION: “That the amended Statement of Purposes and Schedule of Rules (The Constitution) as circulated to all clubs and published on the MPDWG website be adopted, and that this new Constitution be lodged by the Public Officer with the Department of Consumer Affairs within 28 days, as required.”

4.   DELEGATES' MEETING

At the Delegates' meeting that followed, information was distributed about Annual Payments Due, the Beacon Plate 2010, Pennant 2010 and the Revised Conditions of Play.  All Clubs are asked to deal with these matters expeditiously.

The Program of Events for 2010 was also available and after confirmation of some dates will be published on the website soon.
